I've been prescribed Diovan 160mg Tablets for high blood pressure, and so far, it's been managing my condition well. However, I've been experiencing some unusual side effects that weren't mentioned to me by the doctor. I'm curious if others have had similar experiences or if there's anything else I should be aware of — especially with the recent recall news. I've heard reports from people about kidney problems and allergies, which are listed as urgent side effects so I am wondering how common these are. Thoughts?

Ugh, this is why I hate medications. Always seems like there's a catch. I hope you find something that works for you, though. And if you experience the more rare side effects, do not hesitate to contact your doctor. That's not something to take lightly.

I've been on it for a month, and the only side effect I've had is a headache. But it's not really that bad. Worst comes to worst, just take some aspirin. I have not experienced any of the serious side effects. Just wanted to share my experience and let you know that it can get better.

Yea, I felt pretty out of it at first, but I went water bottle crazy! But seriously keep an eye out for kidney problems. You're right to be concerned about the possibility of kidney issues. I got some blood in my urine and it was terrifying, but a trip to the doctor and I was as good as new.

I have heard the same thing about the rash and itching. It could be worse! I've heard of some people having life-threatening reactions, but those don't seem to be common.

This is some serious stuff. I’m glad I don’t have to take it.

I switched to a different drug because of the side effects. Just be careful, and if you feel like something’s off, trust your gut. You know your body best, and doctors don't want to hear anything other than good news, sometimes.

I switched from Lisinopril to Diovan and the side effects were brutal. I was so tired and dizzy all the time. I thought I was going to die. Talk to your doctor and see if there's anything else you can try. This might not be the drug for everyone!.

I had to stop taking Diovan because I developed a rash and itching. It was scary at first, but my doctor switched me to a different medication. Be aware of those allergic reactions. I tried the other brand of Valsartan and it does not seem to work as well as Diovan, but it's safer for my body.
