Diphenhydramine 12.5mg/5ml Liquid is an antihistamine that helps relieve allergy symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes, but is also known for its drowsy side effects many use to aid in sleep. Like other drugs, it has a range of side effects, some dangerous and there are things to consider before you use this. I've been taking it for my allergies for a while, but sometimes I wake up feeling groggy. I want to know if anyone else has had similar problems or useful solutions? Does anyone know if it's safe to take for a long time? What are the side effects you have experienced? Let's share our experiences and tips for managing this. For those who use it for insomnia, have you found a better solution? I hear Benadryl is the same, can you confirm?

I've been taking Diphenhydramine for my allergies for years and it's been a life-saver. I tried Claritin and it made me too groggy, but this one works perfectly for me. No side effects here!

I took it once and it worked great! No side effects and I slept like a baby. But I've heard it can be addictive?.

I've been using Diphenhydramine for my allergies for years. It works great, but I definitely feel drowsy the next day. I've started taking it only at night to combat this.

I took it once and felt so drowsy I could barely function the next day. Plus, my mouth was super dry. Not fun.

I've heard that some people build a tolerance to Diphenhydramine and it stops working for them. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've had trouble with severe allergy symptoms before, so I usually stick to prescription meds. But I've tried Diphenhydramine too and for me it was ok

I took Diphenhydramine once and ended up with a rash all over my body. Scary stuff. I had to go to the doctor and they said I was having an allergic reaction. Credit to the doctor who had me play a game of 20 questions and identify the meds I had taken. Wouldn't recommend it. Allergies are a pain to deal with but I think I will stick to the baby antihistamine sprays for now.

I tried it for insomnia and it worked like a charm! Before that I was waking up every hour. I take it right before bed, sometimes I wake up early and feel a bit hungover, but it works.
