Diphenhydramine 50mg Capsules: My Experience and Questions About Side Effects
I've been using Diphenhydramine 50mg capsules to help with my allergies and to get better sleep, but I'm curious about the side effects. I've heard it can cause drowsiness, which is great for sleep, but I've also heard about some more serious side effects. Has anyone else experienced any unusual symptoms? I want to make sure I'm not missing anything important. Also, I've been reading that it can help with coughs and nausea—has anyone used it for those purposes? I’d love to hear from others who have used this medication.

I used to take it for allergies, but my doctor switched me to something else because of the side effects. Now I stick to Zyrtec.
Be careful with the dizziness—it can be pretty intense. Make sure to take it before bed so you don't have to drive or operate heavy machinery.
I feel less alert and kind of confused. It's okay for sleep but I make sure not to drive the day after using it.
Diphenhydramine is a lifesaver for my travel anxiety. Takes the edge off and makes it so I can sleep on the plane. The drowsiness is annoying but worth it to get to sleep and actually get some rest before landing.
I had a bad reaction once where I broke out in hives. Scariest thing ever. I went to the ER just to be safe. Now I stick to Claritin.
I've had some weird sensations from this one. I took it last week and felt kind of spaced out the next day.
I had an upset stomach from it once. Definitely not fun. Stuck with a bottle of Pepto. I think my body might not like it.
I've been using Diphenhydramine for years for allergies and it works like a charm. The drowsiness is a bit annoying sometimes, but it's worth it to stop the sneezing.
I have used diphenhydramine for my seasonal allergies. It works great for the sneezing, but the drowsiness is a bit much sometimes. I usually pair it with a cup of coffee to stay alert. I just don't get why they don't make an allergy pill that isn't so drowsy. I'd be a lot happier!
I took it for motion sickness once and it knocked me out for hours. Never again.
