I've been prescribed Heparin/Nacl 2U/ml Inj, 500ml to keep my IV lines from clotting. Has anyone else used this? I'm curious about your experiences, especially regarding side effects and how well it works. The list of potential side effects is quite long, and I'm feeling a bit anxious. Any advice on managing this? How do you handle the administration process? I'm also wondering if there are any alternative options out there, and if so, how they compare.

I've been on Heparin for a while now, and it's been a lifesaver for keeping my IV lines clear. The side effects can be scary, but I haven't experienced any serious ones. Just a bit of bruising at the injection site, but my doctor said that's normal. I'd recommend staying hydrated and keeping an eye on any unusual symptoms.

I've heard that warfarin is sometimes used as an alternative, but it requires more frequent monitoring. Some people prefer Heparin because it has a shorter half-life, which means it works quickly and wears off quickly. But everyone's different, so it's worth talking to your doctor about what's best for you.

My mom had some severe side effects from Heparin, including severe bleeding and bruises. She ended up switching to a different medication. But my experience has been pretty good. I had some bruising at the injection site and a mild headache, but nothing too bad. I guess it just depends on the individual. Just keep an eye on your symptoms.

OMG, I just went through a terrifying episode: blood in the urine. Be very careful.

I've used both Heparin and warfarin and I can tell you that warfarin is a pain to manage. The constant blood tests and diet restrictions were just too much. Heparin is easier to manage, but the constant flushing of the IV line can get annoying. Either way, it's a better option to keep your lines clear.

I've seen some people have allergic reactions to heparin. If you start to feel itchy or develop a rash, let your doctor know ASAP.
