After being prescribed Divalproex Extended Release 500mg T for my bipolar disorder, I've had a mix of positive and negative experiences. The medication has definitely helped stabilize my mood, but the side effects have been significant at times. I've been seeing these side effects, and I wanted to see if anyone else has similar experiences or advice. Has anyone else dealt with an increase in appetite and weight gain after starting Divalproex Extended Release? I've also experienced some mild hair loss. And are these just common hair loss side effects or something more. It's really been affecting my self-confidence. I’m curious to hear from others whether these side effects go away over time, and any tips on managing them would be appreciated too. I’ve read about the potential serious side effects, which is a bit scary, but so far, I’ve only experienced the more common ones. Any advice?

I never realized how serious some of these side effects can be. Definitely keeping an eye out for any allergic reactions. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I was on this for a while and the fatigue was insane. Talk to your doctor about switching to a different time of day if it’s affecting your daily routine. For me, it was best to take it before bed.

I’ve had some stomach issues since starting Divalproex. It’s not fun, but I’ve found that taking it with food helps a lot. Make sure you're eating regular meals and staying hydrated.

Seriously, the weight gain is real. But, the benefits for my bipolar disorder have been worth it. I just made sure to up my exercise routine and eat healthier.

I swear I feel like I’m in a fog all the time. Dizziness and drowsiness are the worst. But, has anyone found a way to combat this?

I've been on Divalproex for a few months now, and the weight gain has been a bit frustrating, but it’s manageable with diet and exercise. Have you talked to your doctor about adjusting your dosage?

I’m really glad to see people discussing this. It’s important to know we’re not alone in dealing with these side effects. Keep sharing your experiences, everyone!
