I've been prescribed Diphenoxylate/atropine 2.5mg Tabs to manage severe diarrhea, and I'm curious about others' experiences. I know it works by slowing down intestinal movements, but I'm worried about the side effects, especially the serious ones. Has anyone else taken this medication? What were your experiences like? How did you manage any side effects? The warning list is quite long, and I am worried if I should take the medication.

If you feel confused or restlessness, see a doctor immediately. I was taking this with another medication with a similar effect and I felt like I had a thousand things on my mind.

I took these for a bout of traveler's diarrhea and they worked wonders. No serious side effects, but I did feel a bit dizzy the first day. Make sure to stay hydrated and take them with food if you can.

I had to take this once and it was a Godsend. The diarrhea was really bad, but the medicine worked quickly and I felt normal again. No side effects to report, but I took it exactly as prescribed, too. Good luck!

Talk to your doctor about the side effects. Always good to understand what you're getting yourself into. When I took anti-diarrheal medicine for a stomach flu, I had to deal with some mild stomach pain and headaches. But I started taking aspirin and it got better.

Oh no, I had a awful experience. My friend ended up in the ER with severe constipation and abdominal swelling. It was terrifying, and I never want to take that stuff again. Drink a ton of water.

Diphenoxylate/atropine can be really helpful, but the atropine component is there to discourage abuse, so if you're taking it for legitimate reasons, you shouldn't have any issues. But if you feel any pain in your back, check it out.

Be very careful with this medication. I had a friend who ended up with severe constipation and had to go to the ER. Make sure to stay hydrated and talk to your doctor if you experience any unusual symptoms. If you notice trouble breathing, or rapid heartbeat, go to the hospital.

I took these for a few days and they worked really well, but I had some trouble with diarrhea afterwards. But I kept drinking water and it started to clear out. You would think it would also clear out the rest of my system.
