Does anyone have experience with Saxagliptin/Metformin ER 2.5-1000mg tablets for type 2 diabetes? I've just been prescribed this and could use some insight!
I have recently been prescribed Saxagliptin/Metformin ER 2.5-1000mg tablets to help manage my type 2 diabetes. I've done some research, but I'd love to hear from others who have taken this medication. What has your experience been like? Did you have any side effects, and if so, how did you manage them? I've read about some serious side effects like lactic acidosis and pancreatitis, which is a bit concerning. Has anyone else experienced these, and if so, what did you do? Any tips or advice on taking this medication would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I had horrible joint pain with this one. It was so bad I couldn't even walk some days. I had to switch to something else. It's a shame because it was working well for me otherwise. Just be aware of that side effect.
I tried this but had to switch due to joint pain, it was unbearable at times. My doctor said it could be a side effect, but I wasn't sure if it was worth sticking it out. I'm curious if anyone else experienced this?
I started taking this medication a few months ago and had some trouble with low blood sugar levels. The doctor gave me glucose tablets to keep on hand, which was a lifesaver. I've since adjusted my dose and it's been much smoother. Definitely talk to your doctor about managing that if it happens.
I'm just starting this medication and now I'm a bit worried about the serious side effects. I don't have any insurance so going to the doctor frequently isn't an option. Does anyone know if frequent blood tests are needed with this medication?
I’ve been on this for a couple of years now. I’ve had the usual stomach issues, but nothing serious. I’ve found that taking it with a meal and staying hydrated helps a lot. Just make sure to listen to your body and talk to your doctor if you notice anything weird. Good luck!
I've been on this for about 6 months now, and honestly, it's been a game-changer for me. My blood sugar levels have been much more stable, and I haven't had any severe side effects. I did experience some stomach upset at first, but it went away after a few weeks. Make sure to take it with food, that really helped me. Also, monitor your blood sugar regularly, it's important to catch any issues early.
