I've been dealing with extremely dry, rough skin on my elbows and knees for a while now, and my dermatologist recommended Urea 47% Cream. It seems like a strong concentration, and I'm a bit nervous about trying it. Has anyone here used it? How did you find it? Were there any side effects? I'm especially worried about the allergic reactions mentioned in the side effects. I don't want to end up with swollen lips or trouble breathing. Also, how long did it take to see results? Any tips on how to use it effectively? Thanks in advance!

I didn't know urea creams could cause such severe reactions. I thought they were just moisturizers. Good to know!

I've been using it for a month now, and it's been fantastic. I apply it after showering, when my skin is still damp. It really helps to lock in the moisture. Just don't use it on your face; it's way too strong for that area.

I used this exact cream for a few weeks. It worked wonders on my heels, which were incredibly dry and cracked. I applied it at night before bed and wore socks to lock in the moisture. Just be careful, it can sting a bit if you have any open cuts.

I'm a bit skeptical about this cream. I've tried other urea creams and they didn't do much for me. Maybe I'll give this one a shot if everything else fails.

I've used urea creams before, but never at 47%. I started with a lower concentration and worked my way up. It's a bit strong, so patch test first!

Oh, absolutely, it's super effective. But be careful with the allergic reactions. I had a friend who ended up with hives all over her body. She had to go to the ER!

Thanks for sharing your experiences, everyone! I'm definitely going to give it a try, but I'll start with a small area and see how it goes. Fingers crossed!

My doctor said that urea creams help to exfoliate the skin by breaking down the bonds between dead skin cells. That's why it's so effective for really dry skin.

I had some stinging and irritation at first, but it went away after a couple of days. Just give it some time to adjust.
