I've been dealing with a nasty cold and flu and noticed G-Tusicof Liquid at the pharmacy. This stuff is said to be a combination of guaifenesin, dextromethorphan, and phenylephrine. I read it's meant to help with cough, congestion, and a stuffy nose. Does anyone have any experience with this stuff? I'm really hoping it helps me sleep through the night without coughing fits. I'm also a bit concerned about side effects; the packaging and the internet are mostly helpful but still, what's your take? I'm trying to avoid any nasty reactions. I have a feeling there are some risks but it could be worth it. I'm hoping it helps with more than just nasal stuffiness!

Does anyone know if it's safe to take G-Tusicof Liquid if you have high blood pressure? I'm worried about the phenylephrine in it.

This thread is exactly why I leave medicine reviews on Amazon.

I've used G-Tusicof Liquid a few times and it really helped with my congestion and cough. I had pretty bad side effects and I took it before bed, and slept through the night without coughing, the next morning I woke up feeling much better. Pretty terrible. I think I'll find something else next time. I will not be using this again.

I've heard a lot of people complain about dizziness and trouble sleeping, but I never experienced that and I had some pretty bad colds. I just took it early in the evening, and I felt fine. I just made sure to drink plenty of water during the day.

I tried G-Tusicof Liquid last winter when I had a horrible cold. It definitely helped with my chest congestion and made it easier to cough up mucus. I did feel a bit dizzy and had trouble sleeping that night, but overall, it was worth it to get some relief from my symptoms. The worst part was how dry it made my mouth. I just kept drinking water.

I heard that G-Tusicof Liquid can interact with certain medications. Be careful about that.
