I've recently been prescribed Dovato (dolutegravir and lamivudine) for my HIV-1 infection, and I'm curious to hear from others who are on this medication. How has it been working for you? What side effects have you experienced? I've read about some urgent side effects like allergic reactions and liver problems, so I'm a bit nervous. Also, does anyone know if it's true that Dovato can cause changes in your immune system and bring out underlying infections? Any advice on managing these changes would be greatly appreciated. Last, how has your overall health improved while on this medication?

Dovato has been a lifesaver for me. I've been on it for about a year now and haven't experienced any major side effects. Just the occasional headache and trouble sleeping, but nothing that ibuprofen and a good night's rest couldn't fix. As for immune system changes, it's true that it can bring out underlying infections, but my doctor monitored me closely and we managed it well.

I've been on Dovato for about six months now, and while I haven't had any major side effects, I did experience some muscle and joint pain initially. It went away after a few weeks, but it was a bit scary at first. Plus, taking Dovato means I only have to take one pill a day instead of multiple. It's made my life a lot easier!

Hey, good luck with Dovato, everyone. Just remember, it's not a cure, but it's a powerful tool to manage HIV. Stay positive and take care of yourselves!

Has anyone experienced issues with their immune system flaring up old infections? I'm a bit worried about that.

I've been on Dovato for a couple of months and have had a few scares, but my doctor was able to calm me down. Lactic acidosis is a real risk, so make sure to watch out for muscle pain. My advice is to stay in close contact with your healthcare provider and report any unusual symptoms right away.
