I've been taking Doxepin 6mg tablets for about a month now to help with my insomnia, and it's been a mixed bag. On one hand, it's helped me fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer, which has been a huge relief. However, I've experienced some side effects that have me a bit concerned. Has anyone else had similar experiences? I want to know if I should stick it out or talk to my doctor about alternatives. I've read some serious side effects, but my symptoms are mostly around feeling a bit dizzy and having a dry mouth. It's also worth noting that I've gained some weight, which isn't great but manageable. Any insights or advice would be appreciated!

I had to switch to a different medication because of the weight gain. Just something to keep in mind if it starts to get out of hand.

Doxepin 6mg made me feel like a zombie the first few weeks. I fell asleep instantly, but I was so groggy in the mornings. It took a while to adjust to the dizziness, but in my case, that eventually went away. I honestly think it’s worth the trade-off for the great sleep.

I’m surprised you’re experiencing these side effects. I didn’t have any issues at all with Doxepin 6mg. The only thing I noticed was some slight sweating.

I had a similar experience with dizziness, but I also noticed some strange stomach issues. Make sure you talk to your doctor—there might be another option that works better for you. How often do you take it, and what time of day?

I’ve heard some scary stories about the allergic reactions. If you start feeling any of those symptoms, definitely go to the ER. Do not mess around with that.

I was also kind of bummed about the dry mouth. I tried chewing gum and it helped a little. But when it comes to insomnia, this is really the best option.

I've been on Doxepin for a few months and it's been a game-changer for my insomnia. I also experienced some dizziness and dry mouth at first, but those symptoms went away after a couple of weeks. Plus, I’ve been able to cut back on my diet soda addiction with the weight gain, so that is a bonus. It's definitely worth sticking it out if you're getting good sleep.

Have you tried taking it earlier in the evening? Sometimes adjusting the time can help with morning grogginess.
