I've been prescribed Doxepin Hcl 10mg/ml for my insomnia and it's been a game-changer! But I've been experiencing some side effects like dry mouth and weight gain. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Also, I've noticed that it makes me really sleepy, which is great for bedtime but not so much for daytime. I'm curious to know if others find it affects their daily activities or if they've found ways to mitigate the drowsiness.

Yikes, I had sensitivity to light for a week. Weirdest thing. My doc said it was an unusual side effect. It cleared up after a bit, but I was worried at the time. Sorry to hear about the urinary problems

I've been taking Doxepin for my depression and it's made a world of difference. I wish it didn't make me so tired, but it's worth it for the mental health benefits. I have found that taking it right before bed really helps me get a good night's sleep, but the dry mouth is pretty annoying. Lots of water and sugar free gum. Do NOT use lozengers. I accidentally ate 4-6 in a single night — expecting to wake up with a dry mouth — but woke up with the worst cotton mouth I've ever experienced that lasted for 3 days!

I'm on Doxepin for anxiety and it's been a lifesaver. I did have some issues with weight gain when I first started taking it, but I've managed to keep it under control with diet and exercise. I've also noticed that it makes me feel a bit dizzy sometimes, but it's not too bad. For the dizziness, it doesn't seem to bother anyone else, so it might just be me.

I had a bad reaction to this stuff, personally. It made me feel really jittery and anxious, the exact opposite of what it's supposed to do. Ended up having to switch to something else. Might be worth keeping an eye on how you're feeling after a few weeks, in case it's not working out for you.

I've been using it for insomnia for a while now, and I have to say, it's one of the few things that has actually worked for me, and that's saying something. I've been living with misophonia (and insomnia) for 12 years so far. The main thing is that it resolves my symptoms.

I've had a friend go through some troublesome side effects with this one. Swelling and tingling in the feet, mainly. I can't remember the exact term. anyway, if you're having weird symptoms, don't hesitate to call your doc.

I've been on Doxepin for a while now for my anxiety, and I totally feel you on the drowsiness. I take mine evening time, though so I don't have issues with daily activities.

I switched to Doxepin from another medication and it's been a relief. I had pretty bad nerve pain and this has really helped. I did have some issues with dry mouth initially, but it's gotten better over time. Everyone's experience is so different, though. If you're experiencing side effects, talk to your doctor and see if they can adjust your dosage. They can also provide remedies for dry mouth. Sucking on hard candy, or chewing sugarless gum should help.
