I'm starting Doxil (liposomal doxorubicin) for ovarian cancer next week. Has anyone here had experience with this chemotherapy drug? I've read about the potential side effects, but I'm curious about real-life experiences. How bad is the hair loss? Did anyone experience severe fatigue? And how about the red urine? Is it as scary as it sounds? Also, how did you manage the side effects? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, the mouth sores. I couldn't eat anything spicy or acidic. It was a bummer, but I loaded up on bland foods and got a special mouthwash and toothpaste.

My partner is on Doxil. The red urine freaked me out at first, but the doctor said it's normal. Just be prepared for the color change. Wearing a hair net when washing your hair helped a lot with the hair loss as it was easier to sweep up all the loose hair rather than it clogging the sink and shower drain.

Brace yourself for the fatigue. It's brutal. I felt like I was hit by a truck after each treatment. But it's temporary. You'll get through it. For the mouth sores, I used a special mouthwash my oncologist recommended. It helped a lot.

I'm currently on Doxil for Kaposi's Sarcoma. This stuff can be intense. I had some bad mouth sores and my urine was bright red. It's nasty, but it's all part of this treatment. I had to use a pain spray for the mouth sores, but it's been helping. My doctor also suggested some special toothpaste to avoid any more mouth problems.

I had Doxil for multiple myeloma. The hair loss was pretty bad, but it grew back after treatment. Red urine was weird at first, but my doctor said it's normal. Fatigue was tough, but manageable. Rest when you can, and listen to your body. Otherwise, my experience was okay. No severe side effects here.

Be careful with Doxil. I had a friend who had some severe reactions. She was rushed to the ER after her first round. Then she had to switch to a different chemo. Wishing you the best with your treatment.

I wish I'd known about the red urine beforehand. It was terrifying at first. But my nurse explained what was happening, and it was fine. You can do this! Keep us updated on how you're doing.

Honestly, the hair loss was the worst part for me. But it's just hair, right? It grows back. The fatigue was tough, but I took naps whenever I could. And the red urine? Just weird, but no big deal. Stay positive, everyone's experience is different.

Did anyone else get weird reddening of their palms and feet? I sort of felt like a lobster at one point. Ice cold socks and gloves during infusion helped me.

I had a bad reaction to the first treatment. I was wheezing and my whole body felt like it was on fire. I spent a few hours in the ER. My oncologist switched me to a different chemo after that. Not everyone has bad reactions, but you should be aware.
