I was recently prescribed Eliquis 2.5mg Tablets to prevent blood clots due to AFib. I've heard it can be great, but the side effects list is scary. Has anyone here taken this or similar meds? What were your experiences like? How did you deal with the side effects like bleeding or headaches? Were they tolerable or did you need any special precautions

I was scared of the bleeding side effects, but my doctor said the risk of stroke or blood clots was much higher. I've had no issues, but I always wear a medical alert bracelet just in case. I would avoid taking any pain meds and talk to your Doctor or Pharmacist before taking anything over the counter.

That's a good point, I also take it with food and it really helps with the side effects.

I've been taking Eliquis for a few months now, and I've noticed a significant reduction in my risk factors for stroke. I haven't experienced any serious side effects, but I do have occasional headaches. I've found that staying hydrated and getting enough rest helps manage them. I also make sure to avoid activities that could increase my risk of injury, like contact sports or heavy lifting. It's a bit of a adjustment, but it's worth it for the peace of mind.

I hated being on Eliquis, but my doctor didn't want me to switch because my risk of clots is high. I switched from Aspirin and it made a huge difference! I can tell you that my bruises are finally gone and I always have a sample in my pocket in case I get in a car or a bike accident.

I've had no issues with Eliquis. If you get a nosebleed or something, just apply pressure and talk to your doc about what to do. I recommend setting a reminder for the twice-a-day doses.

I've been on Eliquis for a year now. At first, I had some minor bruising, but it subsided quickly. The hardest part was remembering to take it twice a day. Also, be very careful with aspirin or any NSAIDs, they can increase the risk of bleeding.

My doctor was reluctant to prescribe Eliquis too, but she said that Xarelto is another good option in the same class. I prefer it because it only needs to be taken once a day. You really need to monitor your diet and exercise with these meds

So, one time you people can actually dilly dally, Forget a pill for a day and I'm sure you're fine. But don't miss two in a row.
