Eliquis 5mg is often prescribed for its ability to prevent dangerous blood clots but is it worth the risk? I've been taking it for six months and I've felt fine, but I'm aware of the severe side effects listed. My doctors assure me that the benefits outweigh the risks, but I'd love to hear from anyone who has had an adverse reaction or knows someone who has. Do the benefits really outweigh the serious side effects? Is it worth the risk?

Eliquis saved my life after a pulmonary embolism. The side effects are scary, but for me, it was worth it. Everyone's different, though.

I had to stop taking Eliquis after I started having joint pain and swelling. It was miserable. After I stopped, it took about a month to go away. I switched to another blood thinner and it's been fine. Speaking with a pharmacist is critical for you to know what to expect and how to manage any problems.

So, I was prescribed Eliquis for AFib. Sad that AFib comes with this high risk of stroke, but it's better to take meds and reduce the risk, right? But what happens if one of these side effects hits? The list of side effects is long, it's scary. I've had bleeding issues with other medications before and I'm worried about this one. If it were me, I'd try a different medicine if risks were less intense.

I'd rather deal with the side effects than risk a stroke or Dvt. It's a no-brainer for me.

I was on Eliquis for a while and had no problems, but I've switched to another med now. It's hard to know what to do, but I figure if I'm not having issues, why change? Just make sure to keep in touch with your doctor.

I take my Eliquis every day and haven't had any issues, but I still worry about the bleeding risks. My doctor told me to watch for signs and call if there's even a hint of trouble. I feel safe considering that for now. We have to balance the efficacy with the risks, right?

I wish my doctor had told me about the neurological symptoms. I thought I was having a stroke!
