I recently had an MRI scan where they used Elucirem as a contrast agent. The process was pretty straightforward, but I'm curious to hear from others who have had similar experiences. Did anyone else have any side effects? I felt a bit of warmth at the injection site but nothing too concerning. However, I'm a bit worried about the potential kidney problems mentioned in the side effects list. Has anyone had any issues with that? Also, does anyone know if there are any long-term effects from using this contrast agent? I've been trying to find more information but it seems a bit scarce online. I'd appreciate any insights or experiences you all might have.

I had a similar experience. I had a burning sensation at the injection site but it went away quickly. My doctor assured me that the side effects are rare. Just make sure to follow up with your doctor then your imaging, just in case though.

I'm glad I found this thread. My brother had an MRI with this contrast agent and I’m starting to worry. If he experiences any of the urgent side effects should we call 911 or go straight to the hospital? I just want to be prepared.

I had a bit of an allergic reaction with swelling and itching. It was pretty scary, but I told the nurse right away and they gave me some medication to help. It went away quickly and I was fine. Might be worth it to ask about any allergies you might have beforehand.

I just had my MRI today and they used some other contrast agent. I think it was called gadolinium. It was the first time I've had an MRI and I think I might have gotten lightheaded from the dye, but the techs said it was okay. Is the effect of these contrast agents the same or are there any major differences? I'm so glad I wasn't alone during the procedure.

I had a really bad reaction to Elucirem. I couldn't pass urine for hours and my skin was all itchy and red. Definitely not something I want to experience again. Hugely recommend monitoring yourself closely after injection, at least for a few hours. Hopefully the TSA doesn't scan you if you're flying the same day.

I had Elucirem for my MRI last year and had no issues at all. The injection site was a bit uncomfortable but nothing major. I didn't experience any of the serious side effects either.

I didn't have any issues with Elucirem, but I've had some friends who were really nervous about the injection. It seems like you've had the most common side effect, a feeling of warmth or coldness at the injection site. Did anyone have the injection in their arm or did you get it somewhere else?

Elucirem is a great tool for doctors to see certain parts of the body more clearly. It can be life-saving in some cases. If you have any questions about it or feel any side effects, it's crucial to talk to your doctor or a healthcare professional immediately.

I've worked as an MRI technician for years, and while Elucirem is generally safe, it's important to be aware of the potential risks. Always inform your doctor of any pre-existing conditions, especially kidney issues. It's better to be safe.
