I've been on Emflaza 18mg Tablets for a few months now to manage my Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). It's a steroid medication that's supposed to reduce inflammation and slow down muscle damage. So far, I've noticed some improvements, but I'm also experiencing some side effects like increased appetite and weight gain. I'm curious if anyone else has had similar experiences or knows how to manage them. Also, I want to hear from anyone who has some long-term experience with this medication, and how it has affected their condition. Additionally, I want to discuss the importance of taking it exactly as prescribed and the potential risks of stopping it suddenly. Thank you for any insights you have.

Has anyone tried adjusting their diet to combat the weight gain? I've heard that a low-sodium diet can help, but I'm not sure if it's effective.

I've been on Emflaza for a year and it has made a big difference in my muscle strength. Just be cautious with the side effects and regular check-ups with your doctor. The benefits outweigh the mild side effects, in my experience.

I've been on Emflaza for a few years, and while it has helped with my muscle symptoms, I've had to deal with high blood sugar levels. Just a heads up to anyone taking it—monitor your blood sugar regularly and work closely with your doctor.

I've not heard of a way to stop the weight gain, but I've heard others saying eating smaller, more frequent meals helps with appetite. It's a small change but it can help.

I'm glad to hear from everyone who's had positive experiences. I've heard some horror stories, but it's always reassuring to see how others manage it.

How quickly did you notice any improvements? Mine is pretty new so I'm trying to stay hopeful.

I was really nervous about the side effects but it seems manageable. I've started doing some yoga to see if that helps with the muscle spasms and stiffness. It’s a small change but it helps a lot.

I had a really bad reaction to Emflaza initially. I experienced severe nausea and vomiting. Turns out I have adrenal gland problems, so it was a bit of a rough start. But I manage it now with a lower dosage.

I think I'm going to switch to a rotating diet. I will try different foods for a week at a time and see what changes. The increased appetite is sometimes too much to handle, and I'm hoping this will help me figure out what to avoid.
