Emgality has been a game-changer for many migraine sufferers, but the list of possible side effects is daunting. I've been considering this treatment for my episodic cluster headaches, but I'm worried about the severe allergic reactions. Has anyone tried it? What was your experience? Do you think the benefits outweigh the risks? Here’s what I found so far, but I’d love to hear from others who have actually taken Emgality....

My doctor recommended Emgality, but I'm still skeptical. The injection anxiety is real, but I guess it's better than the a few days lost to migraine pain every month.

I think the worst part is the anxiety of potential side effects. I had a bad reaction to another migraine med, so I'm super cautious. Do any of you have health insurance that will cover Emgality?

I’m so relieved I found this thread. I just started Emgality and I’m a bit nervous about the allergic reaction stuff. Any tips on how to recognize the signs early?

I’ve been on Emgality for about 6 months now, and honestly, it’s been a lifesaver. I used to get migraines almost daily, and now they’re down to once a month. The injection site can get a bit irritated, but nothing compared to the pain of a migraine. Just make sure to inject slowly to minimize discomfort.

I’ve been using Emgality for a few years now, and I haven't had any major issues. Just make sure to keep an eye out for any signs of an allergic reaction right after injection. It’s a bit of a hassle, but totally worth it for the relief I get.

I’ve read reports of people having hives and rashes. I think it’s really important to stay in touch with your doctor.

Be sure to keep in mind the emergency protocol, it’s always good to be ready in case of a reaction.

I had a doctor’s appointment and they said they were pretty sure I was allergic to a few other migraine meds. Emgality turned out to be the best option. The first few injections were a bit scary, but after a while and no side effects, I've gotten used to it. Would recommend speaking to your doctor.

I’m jealous you're getting pain relief from Emgality! I’m still stuck with debilitating cluster headaches. I wish the FDA would approve more of these meds faster.

I switched to Emgality from another CGRP blocker and it has made a world of difference. No more double vision and nausea, though the injection site can get red and itchy sometimes. But no side effects anywhere near as bad as my experience with previous pills.
