I was recently administered Ephedrine Sulfate 50mg/ml Inj, 1ml during a surgery to help maintain my blood pressure. I am curious about others' experiences with this medication, especially regarding side effects. The list of possible side effects is quite extensive, and I want to know if anyone has experienced any of the more serious ones. I’ve heard that it can cause high blood pressure, seizures, and even allergic reactions. How common are these, and what should I watch out for? Do doctors take any special precautions when administering this medication, and what kind of follow-up care do they recommend?

I’ve heard Ephedrine can cause long term issues the doctor never warned me about. Anyone else experience that?I'm not sure about other medicines but long term effects of Ephedrine 50mg/ml Inj, 1ml is exactly what I'm concerned about.

This medication can literally make your heart beat faster and stronger. I remember my doctor saying how it works by tightening blood vessels. It’s crazy how it can change your body’s function so drastically.

I had Ephedrine during a surgery too, and I felt jittery and had trouble sleeping for a few nights. But nothing too serious. Though the nurse did mention some patients had a little more severe reactions.

It's alarming to see the list of side effects, but they do say it's rare. I think the benefit of stabilizing blood pressure is worth the risk, especially in a controlled hospital setting.

Ephedrine is great for raising blood pressure fast, but it's not something to mess around with. The stuff is powerful, and if you're not in a hospital setting, it could be dangerous. Always make sure it’s administered by a professional.

I had an allergic reaction to something once, so I’m always anxious about meds. With Ephedrine, what are the signs of a bad reaction? Is it just the usual rash and itching, or is there more to it?

Ephedrine can definitely cause some nasty side effects, but it's a lifesaver in certain situations. I remember a patient who had a severe drop in blood pressure during a procedure, and Ephedrine brought it back up quickly. Just goes to show how important it can be.
