I've been prescribed Ergocalciferol 8000u/ml (D2) Drops to treat my vitamin D deficiency. The drops have helped immensely with my bone health, but I am also concerned about the potential severe side effects. I have read the list of symptoms for the allergic reactions, and those are very scary. While I'm grateful for the treatment, I want to know if anyone else had severe side effects from this medication or has information they can share. It would also be helpful to hear about positive experiences and how people managed any complications they faced. Are there any lifestyle changes or supplements that can help mitigate the risks? Thank you, everyone, for sharing your experiences.

I take Ergocalciferol drops and have had no issues. I mix them in a small amount of water and add a bit of orange juice for flavor. Makes it much easier to take. I don't notice any side effects. Doctors aren't all-knowing; use your best judgment, and trust your gut.

Be careful with high doses of vitamin D. It's fat-soluble, so it can build up in your system and cause toxicity. Stick to the prescribed dosage and get your levels checked regularly. Overdosing on vitamin D is can lead to hypercalcemia which can cause kidney stones, nausea, and vomiting. The FDA site is a good guide if you're worried.

I was prescribed Ergocalciferol a few months ago and I did have some nausea. My doctor told me to take it with a meal to help reduce the nausea. I got through it but had no lasting issues. Stay on top of it.

Dude, I had no idea Vitamin D could have such serious side effects. I've been low on it but never knew I could have an allergic reaction. Good to know.

A lot of people don't realise just how important vitamin D is for your overall health. It's not just about strong bones; it plays a crucial role in your immune system and even mental health. Make sure you're getting enough, but also be cautious with high-dose supplements like these. Always consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new supplement regimen.

Apparently, vitamin D deficiency is pretty common, especially in colder climates or if you don't get much sunlight. If you're taking Ergocalciferol, make sure to also take calcium supplements. It's essential for helping your body absorb the vitamin D. I've had a lot of luck with both.

I've been on Ergocalciferol for a while now, and I haven't experienced any serious side effects. Just a bit of nausea sometimes, but nothing too bad. Might be worth mentioning to your doctor if that happens to you though.
