Eryth-Benz Perox Gel - My skin is on fire! Is this normal?
I recently started using Eryth-Benz Perox Gel for my acne, but my skin feels like it's burning. The package says to expect dry skin, but nothing about this level of discomfort. Is this normal? Should I keep using it, even though it’s so painful? I’ve read about the side effects and am worried I might be having a bad reaction. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I've been using it for a month now and no burning sensation. Maybe you're allergic to one of the ingredients?
My skin felt like it was on fire too, but it went away after a week. Just make sure to use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer. I also applied a thin layer of Aquaphor before bed, which helped a lot!
Oh no, that sounds awful. I used Eryth-Benz Perox and had some dry skin, but nothing like that. I’d stop using it and see if it goes away. Better safe than sorry!
It should not be normal to feel severe pain after applying. I went to the doctor because I didn't know what was going on.
Oddly enough my skin didn't get dry, but I did get a pretty bad rash. I thought it was just a reaction to the gel, but it could have been something else. The burning didn't stop so I stopped using it.
I had the same issue when I started using it. My dermatologist said it's normal to feel a bit of burning at first, but if it persists or gets worse, you should stop using it. Give it a few more days, but if it doesn't get better, definitely consult a doctor.
My skin was super sensitive when I started using Eryth-Benz Perox. I used a light moisturizer before applying it and it made a huge difference. It’s a bit of a hassle, but it helped with the burning sensation. Also, make sure you’re not over- applying it. A pea-sized amount is usually enough for your face. Dryness can be managed with moisturizer, but burning might be a sign of a reaction, as others mentioned.
