Estradiol 0.25mg/day Top Gel Pk: Our Experience with Menopause Relief
I've been using Estradiol 0.25mg/day Top Gel Pk for about six months now to manage my menopause symptoms, and while it has helped with hot flashes and vaginal dryness, I've experienced some side effects that I wasn't expecting. I've seen discussions about blood clots and high calcium levels on some health forums and I'm getting scared, but is anyone here aware of others who have had such severe side effects? How do we mitigate those risks? This medication is topical so I am hoping the potential for serious side effects is low, but I'd love to hear your experiences.

I started using Estradiol a few years ago and it has been a game-changer for me. I feel like a new person. However, I had no idea of the blood clot risks. I have a family history of blood clots, so this is something I need to talk to my doctor about before I continue. I wish the risks were more clearly outlined. I didn't feel like I was warned.
I am so glad it helped with the symptoms, mine helped with the hot flashes but am experiencing mood swings. I feel like I am having a bad day almost every second day. I have not been diagnosed with depression, but I'm starting to wonder if I should talk to my doctor soon.
I do not believe that this medication is as effective as advertised. The hot flashes and vaginal dryness are still there, and I feel like the gel is just a gimmick. Also, the list of side effects is frightening, especially the severe ones. I am considering switching to hormone pills. Has anyone made that switch and found relief?
I've been on Estradiol for a while now and haven't had any major issues. I did have some mild dizziness at first, but it went away after a few weeks. Just make sure to apply it to a clean area and avoid putting it on your face. Do you use any specific brand? I've found that the price can vary quite a bit.
I am new to topical medication, and this is a little scary. Can someone tell me if this is as effective as the estrogen pill? I've tried a few before, but I've always had trouble with stomach issues. I'm hoping this gel doesn't give me any issues.
I never applied any topical gel before and found it very confusing to understand how to do it correctly. The instructions are not very clear. I ended up asking my doctor to show me how to apply it and I recommend anyone who is just starting to do the same. The doctor also put me on a lower dose than what's standard. I am sure the dosing is more important than I realized.

This is a good reminder to be vigilant. I've heard sever side effects are rare but people should know what to look out for. I was surprised to see changes in eyesight and bulging eyes on the list. I had assumed those were more related to other serious conditions.
I wish they'd come up with a more comfortable way to apply this gel. It feels a bit messy, and I’m always worried I might get it on my hands or accidentally rub it too hard and make it sting. Anyone else feel this way? I also had some strange dreams when I started using it, but I'm not sure if I should blame the medicine or just my stress levels.
I feel like I need to ask my doctor about switching to a lower dose. I'm worried about the long-term effects, especially with blood clots and high calcium levels. Have anyone asked their doctors about these risks and got any feedback?
