I've been using Estradiol 1mg/day Topical Gel for a few months now to manage menopause symptoms, and I've had a mix of good and bad experiences. The gel has definitely helped with hot flashes and vaginal dryness, but I've also noticed some side effects that I wasn't expecting. I've read the list of possible side effects, and while some of them are manageable, others are quite concerning. I've been trying to stick to applying the gel on my thighs as instructed, but has anyone else had any issues with application or absorption? Any tips for making the process easier? Also, I'm curious to hear from others who have used this gel and what their experiences have been like.

I had really bad constipation when I first started. My doctor told me it’s a common side effect. I’ve been drinking a lot more water and eating fiber-rich foods, which seems to help. Also, keep an eye out for vaginal bleeding or spotting—my doctor said it could be normal when starting, but you should always check with them.

I had major hair loss issues, really freaked me out. It got better over time, but I’ve been getting a lot of advice on supplements that can help hair growth. I added biotin to my routine and it seems to be helping.

Didn’t realize applying it to irritated skin could be a problem—good to know!

My sister had depression and mood swings from it, but she switched to a different form of hormone therapy and it was much better. Just sharing in case anyone else is dealing with that.

I noticed swelling in my ankles and feet after a few weeks. I called my doctor and he said it could be fluid retention, which is a known side effect. He suggested elevating my legs when possible and wearing compression socks, and it’s helped a lot.

Just wondering, how soon after starting the gel did you all notice improvements in symptoms?

I’ve heard some people have trouble with the gel leaving a greasy residue. Anyone find a good way to deal with that?

Lotions and creams help. I was using aloe vera lotion and it made the application area feel better.
