I've been taking Diclofenac 25mg Capsules for the past two weeks to manage my arthritis pain, and I'm starting to worry about some of the side effects I've been experiencing. I've had some mild stomach issues, but I've also noticed some shortness of breath and lightheadedness. I'm not sure if the second two are normal, or if I should be concerned. I tried to google some validation, but haven't found conclusive answers. I know that NSAIDs can have some serious side effects, and I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences or if I should talk to my doctor. I don't want to stop taking it if it's something that will pass. But on the other hand, I don't want to mess with my lungs or anything. Any thoughts?

I had a similar experience with shortness of breath and lightheadedness. It turned out I was having an adverse reaction, and my doctor switched me to a different NSAID. Don't ignore those symptoms—they could be serious. Good on you for being proactive about your health.

I take Diclofenac and haven't had any issues. I've heard it can cause some stomach upset, but that's about it. If you've got chest pain, go to the emergency room. Don't mess around with that.

I've been taking Diclofenac for a few months and haven't experienced any serious side effects. I did have some stomach discomfort at first, but it went away after a week. Make sure you're taking it with food and not on an empty stomach. Also, stay hydrated. But if you're experiencing shortness of breath, that's definitely something to bring up with your doctor.

I had a similar issue with a different NSAID and stopped it. Then went to physical therapy instead. Sometimes it's not really even worth it to mess with these medications. I have a heavy pack on my back to prove it.

That might just be the anxiety and stress talking. It's common to worry about side effects and the thought of being in pain again. But you have to do what you can to keep from getting worse.

Also, don't forget to stay hydrated. NSAIDs can affect your kidneys, and dehydration can make that worse. Drink plenty of water and keep an eye on your urine output. If you notice any changes, let your doctor know.

What about other NSAIDs? Have you tried any before? Sometimes switching to a different medication in the same class can help with side effects. But again, if you're experiencing breathing issues, you definitely need to talk to a healthcare professional.

Shortness of breath and lightheadedness are not typical side effects of Diclofenac. I would definitely call your doctor and discuss these symptoms immediately. It's better to be safe!

I speak from experience: the side effects you're experiencing could be completely normal. And my doctor told me this: NSAIDs are known to cause stomach upset, but serious respiratory issues are rare. If it persists, then obviously seek medical attention. But I would give your doctor a call just to be sure and go from there.
