I've been using Exelderm 1% Solution for the past week to treat a stubborn case of athlete's foot. So far, it seems to be working, but I've noticed some mild irritation at the application site. I'm wondering if this is normal or if I should be concerned. Has anyone else had a similar experience? The packaging warns about severe allergic reactions, which is a bit scary. I'm curious to hear from others who have used this medication and their thoughts on its effectiveness and side effects. Exelderm is listed as a sulconazole topical product, so it should definitely get the job done, right? I've heard that it works by stopping the growth of the fungus, but I'm still wondering if there are any long-term effects I should be aware of. Also, what should I do if the irritation gets worse? Should I stop using it or push through?

I had a really bad reaction to Exelderm. I broke out in hives all over my body. I had to go to the emergency room. I would not recommend this to anyone. I've stuck to tea tree oil since then and that's worked for me.

I didn't have any issues with it but I had to use it for a long time. I think I used it for 3 weeks and then I had a relapse. I should have kept using it for a couple more. It was a bit antifungal overkill but I was glad to be done with it.

I wouldn't mess around with an allergic reaction. If you see any signs, get to a doctor ASAP. You could end up in big trouble.

Be careful folks, I saw swelling of the mouth and face—bad stuff. I didn't even know that was a possible side effect!

I've used Exelderm before and it's worked like a charm for my athlete's foot. I didn't experience any major irritation. But the first time I ever tried it, I had a little bit of a rash but it went away in a day or so. I think it's worth pushing through the mild irritation if it's working. In the future I might try some hydrocortisone cream for the irritation.

Exelderm worked for me, but I had to be really careful about where I applied it. I had a bit of a flare-up when some got on my normal skin. That wasn't fun. So be careful and make sure you only put it on the affected area.

I think the key is to apply it to clean, dry skin and not to use too much. I had good results with that routine. I did notice redness at first too but it went away after a few days. Keep at it.

I've heard that some people have had better luck with other antifungal creams like terbinafine. Might be worth a try if Exelderm doesn't work out. I've even heard of some people using it alongside the hydrocortisone cream.

Mild irritation can be normal, but if it gets worse or you see any signs of an allergic reaction, stop using it and see a doctor. An allergic reaction can be really serious.

I'm on day 3 of using it and it burns like crazy! Is this supposed to happen?
