I've been prescribed Exforge 5/320mg Tablets for my high blood pressure, and I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the information. This medication combines amlodipine and valsartan, which sounds promising, but I can't help but worry about the side effects, especially the rare but severe ones. Has anyone had any experiences, good or bad, with this medication? I'm eager to hear any insights or advice you might have.

I've heard from my doctor that this combination can help reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes, but the list of side effects is pretty intimidating - and I'm concerned about how to tell the difference between an allergy and a mild reaction. I've also been told that a lot of people experience NO side effects or only mild ones, but that’s hard to reconcile with the potential adverse effects I’ve read about.

I'm curious to know if anyone has found a way to manage any side effects they’ve experienced. I'm also wondering if anyone out there has personal experience with this medication. Is it worth the risk?

I take Exforge and have had no issues at all, but I have to monitor my potassium levels closely. My doctor checks them regularly to make sure they stay in the proper range.

I’m glad I found this thread. I’m considering Exforge for my high blood pressure but the potential side effects are concerning, especially the liver issues, and the signs of an allergic reaction. Might have to stick with my current meds if this risk is too high. I’d love to hear more positive experiences though. Does anyone know if the side effects go away with time?

This med did nothing for me but make me feel tired and dizzy. I could barely function. My doctor told me to stop taking it and I feel much better now. But, like the OP, I was scared of the side effects. I think everyone should talk to their doctors about them.

I've been on Exforge for a few months now and it's been a lifesaver. My blood pressure is under control, and I haven't had any major side effects. Just a bit of dizziness initially, but that went away. Definitely talk to your doctor if you have any concerns.

Be careful with this stuff. I had a bad reaction to it—swelling in my feet and ankles, and I felt like I was going to pass out all the time. My doctor switched me to something else, and I'm doing much better now.

I had a weird rash that I think might have been from Exforge, but it could have been something else. I stopped taking it and the rash went away, so I'm not sure. I’m seeing a dermatologist before I try any other BP meds though.

I've been taking Exforge for a while and I haven't had any side effects. My doctor told me that many people don’t have any issues. But I still keep an eye out for those rare but serious ones.

My mom was on Exforge and she had the worst dizziness. She felt like she was going to faint all the time. Her doctor had to switch her meds. Just be aware of that side effect.

I switched to Exforge from another BP med and it has been a night and day difference. I feel so much better overall. Be careful with side effects though.
