I'm currently undergoing treatment with Gemcitabine for pancreatic cancer and was wondering if anyone else has gone through this and could share their experiences. Has anyone else experienced different or more side effects than those listed, and how did you manage them? Are the side effects as severe as people say? Also, what are your thoughts on the effectiveness of this treatment and its impact on the need for further treatment?

I've heard that Gemcitabine can be really harsh on the body and that some people experience a lot of nausea, so be prepared for that. Also, it can take a toll on your immune system.

My mom was on Gemcitabine for ovarian cancer, and she had a really hard time with the liver problems. They caught it early and managed it, but it was scary. I had no idea that a chemotherapy drug could cause all of these serious issues. I knew it was bad, but this is on a whole other level.

I've been on Gemcitabine for a few months now for lung cancer. The side effects are pretty tough, especially the fatigue and hair loss. But my oncologist has been great about managing them. I'm glad I've got a strong support system in place.

This drug is no joke. I was hit hard with the flu-like symptoms and the constipation. I've been trying to stay active when I can and eat clean. I've also tried meditation and it's been all kinds of helpful. The silence and stillness definitely helped me deal with the pain and fatigue.
