I've been prescribed Nafcillin 10gm Inj, 1 Vial for a serious Staphylococcus infection. I've heard it's part of the penicillin family and is used for resistant strains, but I'm concerned about the side effects. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? What should I watch out for, and how severe are the side effects? Does anyone have advice on managing them?

I've had to use Nafcillin a couple of times for similar infections. The side effects can be rough, especially the allergic reactions. I remember breaking out in hives and needing immediate medical attention. Not fun. Make sure to keep an eye on any skin reactions.

I had a severe allergic reaction to Nafcillin once. I started feeling weak, had a fever, and joint pain. It turned out to be a delayed reaction. Make sure to get regular check-ups and keep your doctor informed, especially if you start feeling off.

Anyone else have trouble with the injection site? I had a lot of pain and swelling. It was uncomfortable, but my nurse helped manage it.

Nafcillin isn't fun, but it does the job! I think the key is to stay in touch with your doctor and manage the side effects as they come. You'll get through it!

Serious question: has anyone experienced kidney problems from Nafcillin? I'm worried about sudden weight gain and blood in the urine. I haven't put on any weight yet, but I'm keeping an eye on it.

I had to stop using Nafcillin because it made me really dizzy. Sometimes I would almost faint as I was getting the IV injection. Just something to think about, but I'm glad I switched to something else.

I'd say that keeping in touch with your doctor is the best advice. They will monitor you carefully and adjust your medication if things get too rough. It's important to make sure you get the help you need. Keep us updated!

I got through it okay, but the nausea was nasty. I had to take it slow and make sure I was eating bland food. It's not the worst, just be prepared for some tummy trouble.
