I was recently prescribed Piperacillin and Tazobactam (Piper/tazoba 4gm-0.5gm Inj) for a severe infection. I'm a bit nervous about all the potential side effects, so I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this medication? How did it go? Did you experience any of the serious side effects? I had to get this in the hospital. I mean the nurses and doctors are great, but you know how it is. Just be glad you're getting treated.
I had this for a UTI and it worked well. My doctor said it’s a powerful antibiotic, and most side effects are mild. Just monitor your symptoms and you should be fine.
I had a mild allergic reaction to this medication. It was scary, but my medical team handled it well. If you start to feel any weird symptoms, like a rash or trouble breathing, get help right away.
Honestly, if you have the option, ask your doctor to switch you to oral antibiotics as soon as possible. IV antibiotics are a pain in the butt, literally. The injection site can get sore and nasty.
This might be controversial, but I think doctors overprescribe this stuff. I had this shot for a week and it fixed that infection but I wish I had asked more questions and sought second opinions.
