Hello everyone, I've recently been prescribed Sulfamylon 85mg/gm Cream for severe burns and was wondering if anyone has experience with this medication. I've read about the potential side effects, especially the urgent ones, and it's a bit concerning. Has anyone else dealt with these issues? How did you manage them? Also, any tips on applying the cream exactly as directed would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I'm a nurse and sometimes we see people complaining about the pain after application, but it's important to keep applying it because it really helps to prevent infections. Just keep the wounds covered and monitored. It’s not just about applying it, but also about wound care in general.

I've used Sulfamylon before and the burning sensation was pretty intense at first, but it subsided after a few days. Just make sure to follow the doctor's instructions to the letter.

I had a really bad experience with this stuff. I developed a rash and had to stop using it. Ended up switching to silver sulfadiazine, which worked much better for me. Just be cautious and monitor your skin closely.

It can be scary, but remember the acidosis is rare when you are under medical supervision. It's a strong medication, but it works to keep burns clear and safe.
