Extina 2% Foam 100gm for Seborrheic Dermatitis: Has anyone had success with this treatment?
I was recently diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis and my doctor prescribed me Extina 2% Foam 100gm. It's a bit different from other topical treatments I've used in the past, as it's a foam that needs to be applied to the affected areas. Has anyone else tried this medication? I'm curious to know how long it took to see results and what kind of side effects, if any, you experienced. Also, are there any tips for applying the foam to hard-to-reach areas like the scalp? I've heard it can get a bit messy. How does it compare to other treatments like ketoconazole shampoo or hydrocortisone creams for seborrheic dermatitis? And finally, what should I do if I experience any allergic reactions?

Has anyone else had issues with burning after applying Extina? I thought I was going to have a heart attack from the discomfort. But my dermatologist said it’s normal and it should pass in a couple of days. I still have to wait and see.
I was so worried about allergic reactions when I started using Extina, but honestly, it went smoothly. Just be cautious if you are out in the sunlight as it can cause a rash. Also, I found the foam was too thick to use on my face. I’m going to ask my doctor about something more suited to facial use.
I’ve tried a bunch of treatments for this skin condition and it's been tough. Extina is actually the only one that worked so far. I just wish the foam was easier to apply! It's always fiddly, especially on the scalp. But it’s worth it for the results.
Extina 2% Foam 100gm worked like a charm for me. I started seeing improvement in my scalp flakes and itching within a week. Just make sure to apply it to dry skin and avoid getting it in your eyes. Also, be careful when using it on your face—it can be a bit drying. Side effects for me were minimal, just some slight burning at first, but that went away quickly.
I've been using Extina 2% for a couple of weeks now and I've seen a significant improvement in my flaking and redness. The burning sensation wasn't too bad, but it might be worse if you have sensitive skin. I would recommend asking your doctor about this if you have a history of skin issues.
Anyone else feel like the foam gets everywhere? It felt like I was using a shampoo, but I didn’t get the same effect as on my hair. Also, I've noticed it can be more irritating on your face if you use too much. Go easy with the first few tries.
I've had mixed results with Extina. It has helped with the redness and flaking I have on my face, but I get a rash on my chest when I use it there. I might do a patch test before applying it to my skin next time. Plus, I don’t like how the foam feels on my skin. It’s so greasy.
I switched to Extina 2% Foam after dealing with persistent dandruff for some time. It definitely cleared up my scalp, but I had to be patient. First, wash your hair as usual, then towel-dry it gently. Apply a thin layer of the foam directly to your scalp and massage it in. Make sure you cover all affected areas, which will help reduce irritation. You might need to apply it twice a day, so stick with the routine. It’s a bit pricey, but if you can afford it, give it a try.
This has been a lifesaver for me. My doctor warned me about the risk of allergic reactions. He gave me some antihistamines just in case, which I’m glad I have now. So far, so good. Just be cautious about it and watch for any signs of allergic reactions.
I wish I could compare this with other treatments. I haven’t used ketoconazole shampoo but I found Extina works better than hydrocortisone cream for my flaking and itching. Hopefully, this will be the end of this for me!
