I've been prescribed Fentanyl Cit 200mcg Oral Transmucosal Lozenge for breakthrough cancer pain, and I'm curious to hear from others who have used it. How effective has it been for you? What side effects have you experienced, and how have you managed them? I'm particularly interested in hearing about any strategies for mitigating the more serious side effects like breathing difficulties or serotonin syndrome. Has anyone had issues with the lozenge not dissolving properly? I've noticed some inconsistencies, and I'm wondering if others have experienced this. Also, what can we, as patients, do to minimize the risk of these serious adverse effects, and have any of you successfully controlled these symptoms?

I've had a pretty good experience with the fentanyl lozenge. It's really helped with my breakthrough pain, and I haven't had any major side effects like some of you. But I do have to watch what I eat because I get diarrhea pretty regularly.

I've had trouble with the lozenge dissolving properly sometimes, but I've learned to suck on it slowly and evenly. It's a bit of a hassle, but it works. Plus, I've found that using a straw to drink water helps a lot with the dry mouth side effect.

I've experienced some weird side effects like trouble controlling body movements. It's like I'm in a constant state of confusion. It's pretty scary, and I've had to adjust my dosage down. If you feel this way, talk to your doctor!

The fentanyl lozenge has been a game-changer for my breakthrough pain; however, I've had to be very careful with dosing. It's crucial to follow the doctor's instructions to the letter. I've had some mild side effects like dizziness and drowsiness, but nothing too severe. I've found that staying hydrated helps a lot with the nasty side effects.

Not all side effects are bad! I feel more energetic and less groggy than with my other pain meds.
