I've been prescribed Fentanyl Cit 400mcg Oral Transmucosal lozenges for breakthrough cancer pain, and I'm trying to understand more about how it works and the potential side effects. This medication is extremely potent and is only meant to be used for sudden, severe pain episodes in patients already on other opioid pain medications. It's crucial to place it in your mouth and allow it to dissolve completely. Has anyone else used this and can share their experience? I'm particularly interested in hearing about any unusual side effects or tips for managing them.

Serotonin syndrome is no joke. I had a friend who had it and it was a nightmare. Be careful!

This is serious stuff. Make sure you have someone who can check in on you when you first start these.

I've found that keeping a strict schedule with these lozenges helps manage the side effects. Consistency is key, in my experience.

Be very careful with these. A friend of mine ended up in the ER after taking too much too quickly. They work fast, but you have to be careful not to overdose.

I had a bad experience with serotonin syndrome. Make sure to talk to your doctor about all the meds you're taking. It's scary stuff.

I have to carry one with me at all times because you never know when an episode will hit. Make sure your family knows how to use it in case you can't.
