I've been prescribed Ferric Gluconate 12.5 mg/ml IV infusion to treat my iron deficiency anemia due to kidney disease. I've heard it can be effective, but I'm also a bit worried about the side effects, especially the urgent ones. Has anyone else had experience with this treatment? How did you handle the potential side effects? Is it really as scary as it sounds? I want to make sure I'm prepared and know what to expect. Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!

My aunt had to get this a few years back. She said it was pretty rough, but she got through it. Just make sure you're prepared and know what to expect.

I've been on this treatment for about a month now. It's been great for my energy levels, but I did have some severe back pain and shortness of breath a few days back. It was scary, but I sought medical attention immediately and it cleared up. I'm just extra cautious now and make sure to monitor myself

I had some severe groin pain a while back, turns out it was a reaction to the infusion. The doctor said it was rare, but it happened. I was freaking out, but everything turned out fine.

I had this treatment a few years ago. It really helped with my anemia, but I did experience some side effects. I noticed mild stomach pain and weakness, but nothing too severe. Just make sure to communicate with your doctor about what you're feeling. They can help you manage it.

My doctor's a pro, I know she'll take care of me. I'm not too worried about it, I think it's just a bit scary when you don't know what to expect. But it feels worth trying if it can help me feel better.

I'm on my third infusion now. It's actually much easier than I thought it was going to be. It was a bit scary at first, but I'm glad I did it now. I think I will finish the course and maybe I'll feel better in the long run.

Be very careful with the side effects. I noticed I felt really dizzy and had a severe headache after my first infusion. Turns out I was having blood pressure issues. Make sure your doctor is monitoring your blood pressure closely.
