Finasteride 1mg Journey: 6 Months In, Anyone Else Seeing Results?
I've been taking Finasteride 1mg tablets for the last six months to combat male pattern hair loss. I've noticed some slowing down in hair loss, but I'm not sure if I see any real regrowth yet. Has anyone else been on this journey and seen similar results? I'm curious about others' experiences with this medication. I know it's supposed to take several months to see results, and I'm hoping that continuing to use it will show more benefits. I've also been keeping an eye out for any side effects, but so far, I've only experienced some mild tiredness. I'm hoping to hear from others who have been on Finasteride for a similar amount of time and can share their experiences and any tips they might have.

Has anyone tried Finasteride in conjunction with another hair loss treatment? I'm thinking about adding minoxidil to my routine.
I was on finasteride for about 2 years and I thought I was seeing great results, but as soon as I quit, my hair fell back out. I heard stories like this was going to happen, but I had hoped for the best. Obviously I was wrong. Finasteride works by lowering your DHT levels. It doesn't actually stimulate hair growth. It just stops the hair from falling out. My advice is to weigh the side effects and decide if it's worth it for you.
I've been on it for 3 months and I haven't noticed any real changes yet. I really hope the next few months show more progress.
I've been on Finasteride for about a year now. I started seeing results around the 8-month mark. Definitely be patient with it.
The medication is only effective as long as you take it. If you stop, your hair loss will return to what it was before.
I stopped taking it after 3 months due to side effects. Just my experience, but I had no idea how bad it could be.
Keep going. I've experienced side effects similar to Finasteride. I've been on Finasteride for 2 years. Definitely be patient. I started noticing a difference after around 9 months. My hair stopped falling out more than anything and I did notice some regrowth in my hair line. It was a slow process. Good news is I didn't have to take it forever, I took it until my hair loss was under control, then I stopped and my hair didn't fall out anymore.
I had a friend who experienced gynecomastia as a rare side effect. He had to stop taking it immediately.
I have been taking it for 3 years and have had no hair loss since then. The side effects are not pleasant, but I think it's worth it in the end. You just have to decide if it's worth it for you or not. There is also some evidence that it helps with prostate cancer prevention, but I'm not sure if that's true or not. I didn't know that before I started taking it and I'm glad I didn't have to think about that.
