I had a severe reaction to this stuff once. It was scary. I broke out in hives all over, and it was hard to breathe for a while. Ended up in the ER, and the doctor warned me to stay away from it. I’m sticking to hydrocortisone cream now.

Anyone else find it strange that something so common could have such serious side effects? Makes you think twice before just slapping it on any cut.

I've used First Aid Antiseptic Ointment for years, and it's always worked well for me. I remember when I cut my finger pretty deep a while back, and this stuff helped it heal without any infection. Highly recommend it but eye out for side effects

It's crazy how different people can react so differently to the same thing. I've never had any issues with it, but now I'll be more cautious after reading this. Thanks for sharing!

If you're really worried about side effects, maybe stick to just plain old rubbing alcohol? At least it dries out fast and doesn't leave a residue.

It worked fine for me too. Its just a touch greasy sometimes, but it does the job.

I've only used it once or twice, and it seemed fine. But I didn't know about the serious reactions until now. Good to be aware.

I worked in a hospital and this was our go to to disinfect and dress wounds, never saw anyone have issues but I do remember they told us not to use on large wounds.

I think the key is to use it sparingly and only on minor cuts. If you have a deep wound, it might be better to consult a doctor first. Also, always do a patch test before applying it to a larger area.
