Hey folks, I recently started taking Ambrisentan 5mg tablets for PAH and was wondering if anyone else has had much experience with it. I've had a few flushing episodes, but overall, it seems to be working well so far. If you have any tips or insights on managing side effects or improving overall results, please share. I’m curious to hear from the community and see if my experience is typical. How has Ambrisentan impacted your daily life or exercise ability? Has anyone dealt with any of the more serious side effects mentioned in the documentation? More importantly, has it been worth the potential downsides? What do you think about the monitoring requirements and doctor visits? Thanks in advance for any advice or stories you can share!

I feel like Ambrisentan has horribly affected my ability to eat. It's worth it for the benefits it provides, but it's been a huge adjustment. I can't wait until we find a better cure for PAH.

Are there any exercises that are especially recommended for people taking Ambrisentan to get the most out of the medication? Any particular diet adjustments to talk to your doctor about?

I'm finding it weird that they don't discuss the emotional impact in the literature. Ambrisentan has helped me feel like I have my life back, even if it’s just a bit. It's a mindset shift that should be talked about. Also, be prepared for potential weight changes, not everyone loses weight. I went up a lot for a while, my doctors helped me manage the changes.

I've been on Ambrisentan for about 6 months now and it's made a world of difference in my energy levels. The flushing is a bit annoying, but it's worth it to be able to walk up the stairs without feeling like I'm going to pass out.

I'm a caregiver and will say that it's been a life-changer for the person I care for. The energy boost and improvement in blood flow have been amazing. The only thing I worry about is the long-term effects since it's such a new drug. But, so far, so good.

I’ll second the recommendation to keep an eye on liver function. Regular check-ups are key to catching any problems early. My doctor has me on a strict monitoring schedule, he even made me get a wearable to track my heart rate and blood oxygen levels. Now that I think about it, it's been really helpful.

This is a game-changer. My shortness of breath has significantly improved. I can exercise more, which is fantastic. I do have to keep an eye on my liver function though, but my doctor is very vigilant about testing regularly, which I appreciate. Also, if you ever get the fluid retention, make sure your doctor is aware as there are ways to manage that as well.

Flushing is annoying, but I've found that staying hydrated and avoiding hot showers helps a bit. Also, I've had to change my diet a bit to avoid the liver problems, but its been worth it. Listen, it's not a cure, but it's a huge step up from where I was before. If you're having trouble with it, just keep an open line of communication with your doctor. They can help make adjustments if needed. Also, don't forget to report any odd symptoms to your doctor right away. Better safe than sorry.
