I'm 39 weeks pregnant and my doctor has decided to induce labor with Prepidil 0.5mg/3g Vaginal Gel. I'm a bit nervous about the whole process and was wondering if anyone here has used it before? What was your experience like? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! Also, are there any side effects I should be aware of? I've heard horror stories, but I'm not sure what to believe.

I used Prepidil for my induction, the gel felt a bit uncomfortable when I put it in but it worked within a few hours. I just had a mild headache after. No big deal.

I had contractions start quickly but they were really mild. It took a lot longer than I thought it would to get to active labor, and the nurses had to break my water to get it moving. Make sure your hospital is ready for a long day and a half to move things along.

My doctor said that Prepidil is safe and effective for most women. The potential side effects are serious, but rare. Make sure to report any issues to your healthcare provider right away. Good luck with the induction!

I'm afraid of this. What if it doesn't work? What if it takes forever? I've heard terrible stories about induction.

I had an induction and it was rough. I didn't use Prepidil but I did have severe nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. It's a bumpy road. Good luck! If it works you won't regret the journey.
