I was recently prescribed Flexeril 5mg Tablets for muscle spasms due to an injury. I've been taking them for a week now, and while they've helped with the pain, I'm a bit worried about the potential side effects. Has anyone else taken this medication and experienced any serious issues? I've read about serotonin syndrome and some other urgent side effects in the warning section of the pamphlet, which I don't want to experience!! I feel like a lot of side effects are listed, but I don't know how likely it is to experience them. I am also unsure about what other medications should be avoided. I would appreciate any advice or personal experiences shared by anyone who has taken Flexeril in the past. Could anyone also elaborate on what they did to manage the dizziness or drowsiness? I'm considering talking to my doctor about it, but I'd like to have some more information beforehand. Thanks!

My mom took Flexeril and it made her super constipated. She had to stop taking it because of that. Just a heads up! Doctors may prescribe laxatives if the problem persists!

Be careful with this med, everyone is different. I had to stop taking Flexeril because it made me feel incredibly dizzy and disoriented. I couldn't even walk straight. It was awful. My doctor switched me to another muscle relaxer, and it worked fine so far. Don't be afraid to talk to your doctor if you feel the side effects are getting to be too much. I honestly think the benefits of Flexeril weren't worth the side effects in my case.

Flexeril helped me a lot after my back injury, but I did experience some fatigue and weakness. I just made sure to rest more and take it easy. I didn't have any serious side effects, though. I would suggest taking the meds as prescribed and following the instructions of the doctor, as well as any warnings on the medication. Always consult your doctor with any questions or concerns.

I've taken Flexeril a few times and never had any major issues. Just some mild drowsiness. But I do know someone who had a serious allergic reaction to it. They started itching all over and had trouble breathing. It was scary. Also, I found out that drinking alcohol while on this medication is strictly forbidden, as it can increase the side effects. I would report any severe side effects to the FDA but any questions I would ask your doctor or trusted healthcare professional.

I didn't have any issues with Flexeril, but I did feel a bit loopy. I know that I felt really relaxed and focused on a task when I took it. Maybe a little too relaxed, it was like being in a trance.

I've heard that Flexeril can cause some weird dreams or even vivid dreaming, so watch out for that. Not a big deal, but it can be disconcerting. Other than that, I didn't experience any major issues, but I've heard horror stories from other people! I guess you just don't know how it's going to affect you until you try it. I would make sure to ask the doctor any questions you may have.

I had a friend who took Flexeril and ended up in the ER with a super fast heartbeat. Scary stuff. I know this is serious and although rare, it can happen.

I took Flexeril for a few weeks after a car accident, and it helped a lot with the muscle spasms. I didn't experience any serious side effects, just some dizziness and drowsiness. I found that taking the meds at night helped with the drowsiness, but the dizziness got to me a bit. As a side note the doctor told me to avoid antacids, which I didn't know before! Also, I would suggest monitoring your medication intake with this as well, as it can be addicting. More than the recommended dosage can lead to an overdose, and it also may be more difficult to sleep without Flexeril.

I took Flexeril for a while and it was great, but I noticed that I felt really irritable and had weird energy shifts. It was almost like a stimulant at times. I'm not sure why, but I had to stop taking it because of that. I do know this is a muscle relaxant and has a strong effect on the body. It is common to not be able to perform daily activities.

I've taken Flexeril a few times, and I had no issues, but I take it with food to help avoid stomach upset. I also avoid caffeine when I take it, as it seems to make me feel even more jittery. Just my experience, though.
