I recently was given Fluconazole via intravenous injection for a serious fungal infection. Its not something I ever imagined I would need, but I've been on the receiving end of 200ml doses to combat these infections in my blood and brain. The doctors explained that it stops fungal growth, which sounds pretty intense, just as it feels. They also warned me about the potential side effects, which range from really mild stuff like headaches to really scary stuff like seizures. I've had some mild stomach discomfort but nothing too bad. I've seen some reddish discoloration in my urine too, but my doctor says it's normal and probably nothing to worry about, even though the list of troublesome symptoms includes dark urine. The information provided by the pharmacy was intimidating, so I'm curious to hear if anybody else has experience with this medication and has any tips, tricks, or warnings to share.

Could someone explain the whole QT interval thing? I mean what is that even? Is that something I need to worry about if I'm healthy otherwise? I've never had heart problems, but it's always good to be informed.

Kidney function and all that, my doctor said it's not nearly as bad as it sounds. The Fluconazole medication guide can sound really scary with all the side effects, but they're mostly rare. A lot of people will have a minor headache, some nausea, and that's it

This is an excellent thread. Good to know there are people out there who have gone through it and are open to discussion.

I've had Fluconazole before, and while it was effective, the side effects were no joke. I experienced some bad headaches and stomach pain, but nothing too severe. Just keep an eye on those symptoms and stay in touch with your doctor.

I've been on this for a bit, and I can confirm the taste change is real. Everything tastes like metal for the first couple of days. It's strange, but it's manageable. Fluconazole is a life saver. It was worth it to know the infection is gone
