Fludarabine is a chemotherapy drug I've been prescribed for my chronic lymphocytic leukemia. It's given as an injection and works by stunting the growth of cancer cells. The possible side effects are pretty intense, so I'm looking for some insights and experiences from others who have gone through this treatment! This drug is used for chronic lymphocytic leukemia, or CLL, but does anyone have any information on how it's used for other types of blood cancers?

I'm especially interested to hear from people who have experienced the side effects, both urgent and otherwise. I know that there are some severe ones that require immediate medical attention, but I'm also curious about the more common ones. How have you managed them?

Also, I've noticed that it's important to report side effects to the FDA. Does anyone know the process for doing this? How important is it and how do they use the data?

I just started Fludarabine and I'm really worried about the potential for severe side effects. Has anyone had to deal with intense skin reactions? I'm a bit paranoid about it since it's so serious.

I've been on Fludarabine for a while and the side effects are pretty challenging. I'm dealing with a lot of mouth sores and irritations. I know that's pretty common, but if anyone has any tips to deal with them, I'd be really grateful!

Have you thought about trying acupuncture and cannabanoids for the side effects? I've been using it to treat my fatigue and nausea and I'm glad I did! It's made a huge difference for me. Plus, it's not like I'm smoking weed all day, right? It has medicinal value, I swear by it!

I've done Fludarabine and my doctor did mention the skin reaction. It was scary, super scary, but I never got anything like it. What happened was that I had to get it done at a central line because a lot of the time, you get a lot of extra pain and discomfort from the injections themselves, straight in the vein. But anyways, it worked out and I'm alive! I'm lucky. And yes, I agree, stay talk to your doctor and be hydrated!!

Yeah, the fatigue is ridiculous. But worse than that, I get these weird burning sensations in my hands sometimes. It's really hard to describe. Anyone else? My doctor says it's neuropathy and suggested some over-the-counter medication for it.

I've been on Fludarabine for a few months now, and the fatigue is real. It's like a constant feeling of exhaustion, but my docs have been helpful in managing it.

Fludarabine is a tough one, but it’s done wonders for my CLL. The side effects are grim, but manageable. I had some severe mouth sores, so my doc prescribed a special mouth rinse and some painkillers. It was hell at first, but the medication helped after a few days. My biggest advice? Communicate openly with your healthcare team. They're there to help!
