Has anyone here had an experience with Fluorescite 10% Op Inj, 5ml? I'm scheduled to get this dye injected for an eye exam and I'm a bit nervous about it. I know it helps diagnose eye conditions by glowing under special light, but I'm concerned about the side effects. Has anyone experienced any of the urgent side effects like tissue damage at the injection site? Or maybe some of the other side effects like yellowing of the skin? I'd love to hear any insights or tips you have!

I had this done and it was actually pretty straightforward. The doctor explained everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable. Just a quick pinch and then the dye does its job. I had no issues with side effects so I couldn't tell you much about them.

Be prepared for your urine to turn bright yellow for a while. It's weird but harmless. Also, make sure to drink plenty of water before and after the procedure to help flush out the dye.

I had a bit of a reaction. I experienced some itching and hives, but it wasn't severe. I informed the doctor and they gave me an antihistamine which helped. Weirdly, the itching felt like a bit of a strong allergic reaction, but just on my arms. The doctor said it was likely because of how it reacts with the skin (the dye wasn't meant for me to be exposed to it rather, it was all in my bloodstream). It's important you say if you have any skin reactions during, but luckily it was short-lived.

I had Fluorescite 10% Op Inj, 5ml and the doctor told me to expect some changes in my vision and some pain. I was told to avoid driving for several hours, but I felt fine after a couple of hours. The most annoying thing about it was my urine was bright yellow for about a day, but that's nothing want the warning your description lists.

I was really nervous about this but it was no big deal. Just a bit of discomfort at the injection site and some weird urine color, but nothing major. Totally worth it if it helps diagnose any eye issues.

The injection site was a bit sore for a day or so, but nothing major. Definitely not worth worrying about. Make sure to take it easy for the rest of the day to minimise side effects; things like nausea can be bad but they usually don't last long. Also, no heavy lifting or strenuous activity for a few hours afterward. Listen to you doctor but they'll say similar things: listen to your body and take it easy.

I had this done recently and experienced some eye irritation. It was a bit uncomfortable, but the doctor assured me it was normal and would disappear with time. Totally worth it if it helps diagnose any eye issues.

I had no idea this stuff would make my skin turn yellow! I thought I was turning into the Hulk or something. Scared the heck out of my kids. Fear not, it goes away pretty quickly.
