Fluorouracil 1gm/20ml Inj 20ml: Chemotherapy Side Effects and Experiences
I'm starting my first round of Fluorouracil 1gm/20ml Inj 20ml for cancer treatment, and I'm feeling a bit anxious about the potential side effects. I've read the list, and there are some scary things on there. Has anyone else gone through this? I'd love to hear your experiences, tips for managing side effects, or just some words of encouragement. How did you handle the infusion process? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My mom went through this last year, and she said the worst part was the mouth sores. She had a really hard time eating and drinking, and it was so hard to get her to eat. She had to stick to a special diet and drink with a straw. We had to keep running to the store to get her the stuff she needed. I think that was the worst part of it all.
I had a really bad time with this drug. I had some other health issues, and I had to discontinue treatments midway. The worst was the nervious system issues. Can't believe this is normal for all this stuff. I thought I was going crazy.
I can't believe people have to go through this. I'm really wondering how anyone makes it through the treatment without going insane. My friend went through it last year, and it was brutal. I was shocked when they said the treatment was finished, and that so many people can go through this and still improve. I think we all need some extra love and care when we are going through something like this.
I went through this a few years ago. The infusion itself wasn't too bad, but the side effects were tough. I had some pretty bad mouth sores and hair loss, but my doctor had me on a regimen of mouth rinses and pre-medication that were a lifesaver. Gather up all the support you can during treatments. It seems to help to stay on a positive perspective, and do what you can to keep your spirit up.
I have been curious as to why my doctor has me take this chemically, and not one of the other ones. I know that I probably need it, but it's still a little scary to think that I'm getting the worst of it. But I'm going to trust my doctor knows what they're doing.
Fluorouracil was the worst drug I took during my treatment. I had major issues with bleeding and infection, and it was so hard to control. Just getting through the day was a chore. I had to get creative with my diet and daily routines, and I can't believe how hard it was to get through it, I felt a little lost. I don't know what I would do without my support team.
I'm currently going through my second round of Fluorouracil, and I have to say, the side effects have been much worse than I expected. I had a really hard time the first time, but it seems like the side effects are getting better. This is a very frustrating part of getting through this stuff. It's going to get better, I hope.
I had a very bad reaction to Fluorouracil, and I want to say to speak up early if you notice any signs of an allergic reaction. Contact your doctor immediately. The flu-like symptoms were rough, but the sheer terror of the allergic reaction made it all the worse. I don't know if others had the same experience, but I would suggest alerting medical staff to any negative reactions as early as possible. Keep a watchful eye, and keep your family and friends nearby.
Dear Chemo: You are not the boss of me. I have allergies and a hard time breathing currently, so I will likely not be taking any shots.
