Freston 60mg Tablets: My Experience with Toremifene for Breast Cancer Treatment
I started taking Fareston 60mg Tablets (Toremifene) a few months ago as part of my breast cancer treatment. This medication is specifically designed for postmenopausal women and works by blocking the effects of estrogen, which can help slow or stop the growth of certain breast cancers. I've been through a lot of chemo and radiation, so I'm hoping this will help stabilize my condition.
I've heard mixed things about the side effects, though. Some people say they experience severe reactions, while others have mild or no symptoms at all. I'm a bit worried because some of the serious side effects are downright scary, like seizures and liver problems. Has anyone else had these?
I wonder if anyone here has any tips on managing the side effects? For instance, I've already been experiencing hot flashes and upset stomach. I'd love to hear how other women have coped. And what about the long-term effects? Does anyone know if this drug will impact my bone health or increase my risk of blood clots?
In the meantime, I'm just trying to stay positive and hope for the best. I know this is a tough road, but I'm determined to fight this.

Wow, this sounds really intense. I hope you find something that works for you and that you can get through this. I know how tough it can be. Best of luck to everyone here.
I used to get these hot flashes and excessive sweating too. It was awful, and I couldn't sleep for a night. I started using a cooling mattress and it helped quite a bit. Maybe look into some of those tips for cancer patients? My sister was really helpful in giving me different methods to cope with these side effects, too.
I had really bad muscle pain when I first started taking Fareston, but it went away after a few weeks. It was really intense at first, but I just took some over-the-counter pain relievers and it helped. I'm not sure if it was related to the drug or not, but it was definitely good to get checked out.
I had some minor side effects, but I also had some symptoms I didn't expect, like fever and unusual vaginal bleeding. I knew about the hot flashes and the sweating, so I was prepared for that. But the fever really scared me. The doctor told me it was just a fluke and that it wouldn't happen again, so it was a relief. But, I still got freaked out every time I started to feel hot. It was weird. I think the most important thing to do is keep your doctor in the loop with what you're going through.
The FDA's website is really helpful for reporting side effects or getting in touch with someone who can help.
I've been on Fareston for about six months and I had unpredictable bleeding and really bad vaginal discharge. It was awful, but my doctor said it was a side effect. She changed my dosage, and it improved. Just be aware that these things can happen but if they do, stay in touch with your healthcare provider.
Isn't it weird how some drugs have such a long list of side effects? I avoid reading them all because it freaks me out. Just stick with it and follow your doctor's advice. You got this!
