I've been taking Gemfibrozil 600mg tablets for about three months now to manage my high triglycerides levels. My doctor prescribed it after diet changes alone weren't enough to lower my triglyceride levels. It's been a bit of a journey, especially with the side effects. I've had some stomach pain and heartburn, but nothing too severe. However, I'm a bit worried about the potential muscle problems like the rare, severe muscle condition. Has anyone else experienced this? The possible side effects are a bit scary, but I'm hoping the benefits will outweigh the risks. I've also noticed a slight increase in my HDL cholesterol, which is the 'good' cholesterol. Has anyone found the drug to be effective in lowering triglycerides and increasing HDL? Also, how long did it take for you to see noticeable results? I'm curious to know if anyone has had to stop taking this medication due to severe side effects. How did you cope with it? I'm interested in hearing about other people's experiences and any tips you might have for managing the side effects.

Be careful with the possibility of gallstones. I had some bad episodes of sudden pain in my upper right belly. It wasn't fun, but luckily it didn't lead to any more serious issues.

My doctor told me about the signs of an allergic reaction so I would be able to recognize them if they happened. Things like rash, hives, itching, and wheezing. I knew someone who had a severe reaction and ended up in the ER. Scary stuff.

The muscle problems are no joke. A friend of mine ended up with a severe muscle condition and had to stop taking it. It was a close call.

This drug works wonders for some people, but it’s not without risks. My dad had to stop taking it because of low blood cell counts, which made him susceptible to infections and bleeding problems.

I've been on Gemfibrozil for over a year now, and it's been a game-changer for me. My triglyceride levels have dropped significantly, and my HDL has increased. The side effects were tough at first—stomach pain and diarrhea—but they eventually subsided. My doctor warned me about the potential muscle problems, so I make sure to stay hydrated and monitor my muscle health closely. It's crucial to stay in touch with your doctor and report any unusual symptoms right away.
