Why not try some natural remedies first? I've had good luck with tea tree oil and honey for skin infections.
I used Gentamicin a few years ago for a similar issue. It worked great, and I didn’t have any side effects. Just make sure to apply it exactly as your doctor told you to.

Gentamicin is strong, no question about it. Just make sure to watch out for any signs of an allergic reaction. I had minor irritation, but nothing major.
