I've been on Glipizide ER 5mg Tablets for a few months now to manage my type 2 diabetes. The medication has helped control my blood sugar levels, but I've experienced some side effects that I wanted to share. The most noticeable ones are dizziness and some digestive issues. I've also had to be careful about managing potential low blood sugar episodes. My doctor told me Glipizide ER is great for people like us whose sugar level fluctuates a lot - I think it's true. I'm interested to hear from others who have taken this medication and how they've dealt with potential side effects. Also, what are some effective ways to manage low blood sugar besides the usual glucose tablets or juice?

I had gas for the first week, but it went away. I thought I was gonna die at work...

I had a really bad reaction to Glipizide ER. I ended up in the hospital with some serious skin reactions and trouble breathing. It was scary stuff. I'm glad I got help right away because I've heard that it can be life-threatening. I'm much better now and on a different medication, thank goodness

I've been on Glipizide ER for a while too and agree that the dizziness can be annoying. I always make sure to eat a balanced meal before taking it. My doctor told me that it's normal and it will disappear in time. Also, I've found that keeping a snack with me at all times helps with the low blood sugar scares. You can never be too careful!

Has anyone else experienced any nervousness or excitability? I've been feeling pretty jittery since starting this med. I thought it was just stress, but maybe it's a side effect.
