I recently learned about the Glucagon 1mg Emergency Kit for severe hypoglycemia. It's supposed to be a lifesaver for diabetics who are unconscious or can't take sugar orally. Has anyone here used it or had to administer it to someone else? I'd love to hear real-life experiences. For those that don't know, glucagon is a hormone that tells the liver to release stored sugar. It's crucial for rapid treatment of severely low blood sugar. I've read the possible side effects and they are scary. I think it's important to share info about this, but also to have a discussion about the proper handling in an emergency. What are your thoughts?

I've never had to use it, but I've seen some YouTube videos on how to administer it. It looks pretty straightforward, but I'm glad I have it just in case.

I've been using the kit for over 10 years now and have had to use it a few times. The side effects are no joke, but it's a lifesaver when you need it. I've experienced some irritation at the injection site and general nausea but nothing too severe.

Same, I was a bit overwhelmed when I got mine. But my doctor talked me through it. The key is knowing the signs of severe hypoglycemia and acting quickly. It's scary, but it's better to have it and not need it than the other way around.

I had no idea this stuff could have such serious side effects. I've never used it, but now I'm a bit scared to even have it around. What if I cause more harm than good?
