Don't forget to mention that dry mouth is no joke. I drink water all day long, but it's still a battle.

Start by taking it once a day, preferably at night. If the side effects are too intense, talk to your doctor about adjusting the dose or timing. It's not worth going through the side effects if they are too intense.

I've been taking Guanfacine with no issues, but my friend had a severe reaction. Always read the leaflet, it says right away that you need to seek medical attention right away if you get a rash, or feel like you can't breathe. Guessing that's the allergic reaction symptoms.

I started Guanfacine thinking I'd just take it for a week, but it worked so well for my ADHD symptoms that my doctor agreed to continue. Just wish I didn't have to deal with the constant fatigue.

I’ve never had severe side effects from Guanfacine. The dizziness was a bit of a pain the first few days, but it went away. I actually have a friend whose doctor tried to transition him to something else, but it was ineffective. I also experienced erectile dysfunction when I first started, but it went away after a month or so.
