I've been using Loprox 0.77% Cream for athlete's foot for a few weeks now. At first, it seemed to be working, but recently I've developed some serious skin irritation around the application site. I'm talking redness, swelling, and even some tender blisters. I'm worried because the package insert mentions severe side effects. I contacted my doctor, but they haven't gotten back to me yet, and I'm getting freaked out. Has anyone else experienced side effects from this cream? Should I report this? I'm also wondering if anyone has any tips for dealing with these side effects while I wait to hear from my doctor.

That sounds awful! I had a similar issue with another antifungal cream and ended up switching to an oral medication. Maybe talk to your doctor about alternative treatments.

I had a similar reaction to Loprox. I ended up switching to a different cream and it worked much better for me.

Sounds awful. I had a bad reaction to a different cream and it ended up being an allergic reaction. Definitely stop using it and talk to your doctor.

I had a bad reaction to a different antifungal cream once. It was terrible... Stay strong, and talk to your doc about stopping the medication if you feel it's not right for you.

I had some minor itching when I used Loprox, but nothing like what you're describing. Maybe you should stop using it and talk to a pharmacist or dermatologist. I'll report that rarely, serious side effects can happen and anytime something gets worse like this, stop using. Especially if it's burning and blistering like you mentioned.

Have you tried using a moisturizer at different points in the day, outside of where you are applying the treatment to see if it helps with the irritation?

I used Loprox for jock itch and didn't have any issues. But I did hear from a friend who had a bad reaction. Make sure you're not allergic to any of the ingredients, like ciclopirox.
